Mother Moon

Mother Moon, shine so bright, Fill the ink black sky with light. Mother Moon, guide me kindly, Else I'll be walking blindly. Mother Moon, the wolf does howl, With long claws and savage jowls. Mother Moon, the wolf does cry, With silvery fur and fiery eyes. Mother Moon, your light fades red, And the village is filled with dread. Mother Moon, a cry in the night, A feral beast is filled with delight. Mother Moon, an evil grin, Now the village is plagued with sin. Mother Moon, a creature does stalk , And it kills anything that walks. Mother Moon, a man-like beast, The village people are now its feast. Mother Moon, what a beast y

"Skylar only gets three more cookies today, and that's not til after dinner. And you'll be sure to put her to bed by eight," Rita rattled off. Sammy could smell the anxiety oozing from her pores. Rita was the spitting image of her twin sister Ruth, also known as Night Sky, Alpha Female of Argo--but she lacked her sister's self-assured, commanding aura. Sammy glanced back over his shoulder, at the four-year old singing along with Elmo on TV. Skylar was the cutest little werewolf Sammy had ever seen. Her big hazel eyes sucked in his attention. Her cornrow hair was bunched in a poofball on each side of her head. She ran around in pink tutus, which her mother kept several on hand and switched them out wherever Skylar got them too dirty. And her petite white fangs glistened as she sang, impressively on-key for someone her age. She probably had her keen werewolf ears to thank for that. Of course, Rita was challenged enough as a single mother, let alone a single mother to a werewolf child.

A Different Kind of Wolf

“Mom, Ava is eating a slug!” Scott Friedmann’s ears twitched back against his head. Some noises were harder to leave behind than the human’s annual fireworks celebration. His wife Sonya rocked little Lexi on her knee and failed to respond with the same sense of urgency that colored their oldest daughter’s voice. “It’s all right, Sweetie,” she said. “It won’t hurt her.” Hannah would not be dissuaded. “But it’s gross!” she said. Scott chuckled. He turned away from the venison kabobs he was rotating over the campfire and took in the scene. Hannah’s ear

Movie Monster

All filmmakers must die. Especially the ones who think it’s a good idea to make a movie about werewolves. I hate to say it, but most werewolf films suck, and not because they show us as mindless, man-eating monsters - there are some of us who are like that.  I’m like that myself, actually, on a few occasions, when it’s necessary.  No, the reason most werewolf films suck is because the makers have no idea what a good story is.  They either have a plot full of holes, characters so bland and underdeveloped they don’t exist in the third dimension, or even worse, both. This doesn’t bother my little sister Pam.  Sh

The Whelp of Orion [Refitted]

[Caution: This story was refitted to fit WerewolvesAtHeart's PG-13 language standard.  Enjoy!]        In Orion, there is no shame in becoming the thing you were designed to hunt.  Not only does Orion accept the fact that their hunters could become infected, they embraced the fact of it happening in the early fifties, way before I was born.  The way it happened for me was a job gone wrong.          In Orion, you are one of four things.  You are a Templar, a Cleric, an Inquisitor, or a Wild Card.  Templars are the SWAT team of the agency.  If you have just one Templar after you, you better expect a good fight.  A Cleric is someone that resid
